Writing
Plain‑language pieces on streaming engineering and on how complicated systems actually work, written by someone who has shipped at national scale. I add a new one roughly once a month.
- A Roku Certification Checklist from Someone Who Has Passed It (September 2026). Roku publishes the criteria but doesn't say which ones actually fail apps. This sorts the current requirements by what missing them costs you: a rewrite, a number you have to hit, or a resubmission.
- How Renaissance Technologies Makes Money (September 2026). The most successful fund in history runs no mutual fund and no ETF. This is what the SEC filings and a Senate investigation show, and which parts a normal account can copy.
- What a Roku Channel Actually Costs (August 2026). The six things that move the number, why nobody honest publishes a flat rate, and what a fixed written quote should cover.
Building something for TV?
I build certified Roku channels end to end through NJLIGames Ltd. The details are on the Roku channel development page.
